New year blessings 2026

Dear Devotees,

On January 1st, 2026, Florida Buddhist Vihara has planned to perform the traditional Kiribath (milk rice) Buddha-Pooja followed by the chanting of Dhamma Chakkappavattana sutra to bless you all, once again, for the new year. With this email, we kindly invite you to attend the above blessing ceremony.

Agenda

09.00 a.m.     Arrival of devotees

09.30 a.m.     Offering of milk rice & Gilanpasa

10.00 a.m.     Brief Dhamma sermon (Sinhala & English)

10.30 a.m.     Chanting of Pirith (Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta)

11.15 a.m.     Offering of the Buddha-Pooja

11.30 a.m.     Offering of Dana (alms) to the monks

11.35 a.m.     Serving of refreshments to participants

12.15 p.m.     Distribution of chanted threads and blessed water

We kindly inform you that chanted threads and blessed water will be made available later for those devotees who would find it inconvenient to attend the ceremony.

We also kindly request devotees to provide flowers incense, T light candles and fruit juice for the Buddha-Pooja.

In addition, we will appreciate your contributions in terms of disposable plates, paper-cups, paper-plates, small water bottles, milk rice, chili paste (Lunumiris) and other Sri Lankan delicacies appropriate for the occasion.

2026 නව වසරට සෙත් පතා පවත්වනු ලබන විශේෂ කිරි ආහාර බුද්ධ පූජාව හා දම්සක්පැවතුම් සූත්‍ර සජ්ජායනාව මෙවරත් 2026 ජනවාරි මස 01 වන දින ෆ්ලොරිඩා බෞද්ධ විහාරස්ථානයේ දී පැවැත්වීමට කටයුතු සංවිධානය කොට ඇත. ඒ සඳහා පැමිණ සහභාගී වී ආශීර්වාද ලබාගන්නා ලෙස ඔබ සැමට මෙත් සිතින් ඇරයුම් කරමු.

නියමිත වෙලාවට පැමිණීමට අපහසු පින්වතුන්ට ද  පසුව පැමිණ පිරිත් පැන්  සහ පිරිත් නූල් ලබාගත හැකිබව කාරුණිකව සිහිපත් කරනු කැමැත්තෙමු.

සම්බුද්ධ පූජාව සඳහා, මල්-හදුන්කූරු-ඉටිපහන් (T light candles ) හා ගිලන්පස ද, සහභාගීවන හැමදෙනාට සංග්‍රහය සඳහා කුඩා වතුර බෝතල්, පේපර් කප්ස් හා පේපර් ප්ලේට්ස්, කිරිබත්, ලුණුමිරිස්, බිස්කට්, කෙසෙල්ගෙඩි සහ වෙනත් ලාංකික රසකැවිලි ආදිය ද සමග පැමිණීම අගය කරමු.
