Dear devotees,

Kathina is a Buddhist festival which comes at the end of vassana, the three months of rainy season retreat of Theravada Buddhist monks. Offering the kathina robe and dana to the monks and preparation of lunch for the attendees have been traditions at Kathina ceremony of the Florida Buddhist vihara in Tampa. This year, the Kathina cerermony will be held on October 26th  2013.

9.45 – 10.45 Dhamma Sermon (Ven. Kurunegoda Dhammaloka)

11.00 – 11.30 Buddha Pooja

11.30 – 12.00 Serving of Alms to Clergy (Sangika dana)

12.00 – 1.00 Lunch for laity

01.00 – 01.15 Kathina procession

01.15 – 3.00 Kathina robe offering followed by Venerable Aluthgama Dhammajothi

03.00 – 3.15 Chanting of Seth Pirith and words of thanks giving

03.15 – 04.15 Cleaning of the temple premises and End of ceremony
