One day Meditation Retreat with Venerable Yuttadhammo Thero

Dear Devotees,
We are pleased to inform you that ‘One Day Retreat’ will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Florida Buddhist Vihara premises. This retreat will be conducted by Venerable Yuttadhammo Thero. We apologize for organizing this event on such short notice and any inconvenience that it may cause you. We sincerely hope that all of you will be able to find the time to attend this event and find it helpful in your journey along the path of Dhamma.

The program commences at 9.45 a.m. and the brief schedule is as follows.

09.30 am  – Arrival
09.45 am  – Well come Speech & Observance of the Eight Percepts
10.00 am  – Introduction & Meditation 
                   (During this period noble silence will be observed except for individual reporting to the teacher) 
11.00 am  – Buddha Pooja 
11.30 am  – Serving Alms to Monks & people who have observed eight percepts  
01.00 pm  – Dhamma talk & Meditation 
03.00 pm  – End of the program 

Ven.Yuttadhammo
​Venerable Yuttadhammo (formerly Noah Greenspoon) is a Canadian-born Theravada Buddhist monk, ordained in 2001 under the guidance of Venerable Ajaan Tong Sirimangalo of Chiang Mai, Thailand.  He has practiced intensive and daily meditation following the Mahasi Sayadaw tradition since January 2000.  He keeps discipline in line with the Theravada Buddhist monastic code, including not touching money,owning only one set of robes, etc.

He has taught intensive meditation in Thailand, Sri Lanka, USA and Canada since 2003 and gives online teachings via YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/yuttadhammo ) both live and pre-recorded.  He gives Dhamma talks in both English and Thai to both intensive meditators and by invitation to the general public.

He studied Sanskrit, Pali and Indian Religion at McMaster University and University of Toronto, formal Thai Dhamma, Abhidhamma and Pali studies at Wat Phradhatu Sri Chom Tong and teaches Pali classes to advanced meditators from time to time.

He is the President of Sirimangalo International, a non-profit organization that maintains the websitehttp://www.sirimangalo.org/ with both an online social network ( http://my.sirimangalo.org/ ) and an interactive Q&A forum ( http://ask.sirimangalo.org/ ).  He is currently the head of the Parideha Forest Monastery in Manitoba, Canada (see http://canada.sirimangalo.org/ ).  He also conducts meditation courses in other parts of the world, and works to maintain forest monasteries in both Thailand and Sri Lanka together with local monastics.
